On Wednesday October 5th, First Lady Michelle Obama will host local students at the White House for the 2011 Fall Garden Harvest. The Garden Harvest will also mark the first ever Let’s Move! Tweetup, an opportunity for @LetsMove followers on Twitter to come to the White House to watch the garden harvest, meet the White House chefs, tour the kitchen garden and engage in a conversation on the First Lady’s initiative to end childhood obesity.

The Let’s Move! Tweetup is an in-person meet-up with people who follow Let’s Move! on Twitter and are passionate about the issue. Let’s Move! Tweetups provide @LetsMove followers with the opportunity to attend events, engage with the White House and share their ideas with other @LetsMove followers.

What is a Tweetup?
A Tweetup is an informal meeting of people who use the social messaging medium Twitter. This Tweetup is an opportunity to attend the first Let’s Move! Tweetup, tour the kitchen and garden and meet White House chefs, Let’s Move! staff and fellow Tweeps.
How do I register?
Registration opens at 1:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, September 22nd on www.LetsMove.gov/Tweetup and closes at 5:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, September 23rd.
Registration is for one person only (you) and is non-transferable.
Do I need to have a Twitter account to register?
Yes. This event is for active, public Twitter users who follow @LetsMove Twitter account.
What are the registration requirements?
Registration indicates your intent to travel to the White House in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, October 5th and attend the Let’s Move! Tweetup in person. You will bear any costs associated with travel and lodging. All registrants must be at least 18 years old.
All guests will be required to present a valid, government-issued photo identification (detailed here).
Does my registration include a guest?
Because of space limitations, you may not bring a guest. Each registration provides a place for one person only (you) and is non-transferable. Each individual wishing to attend must register separately.
What if I cannot come to Washington, DC?
If you cannot come to the White House in Washington, D.C. to attend in person, you should not register for the Tweetup. You can follow the Tweetup on Twitter with the hashtag #WHTweetup.

When will I know if I am selected?
After the White House has received registrations, an email with additional instructions will be sent to those invited and those on the waitlist.
