Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you have to hibernate! The National Museum of Play, part of The Strong in Rochester, NY, is making sure kids are moving through the winter months. Throughout the holiday break in December the museum had a week of fun of Let’s Move!-themed activities that encouraged kids to stay active. More than 30,000 guests visited the museum during the period. Kids worked up a sweat and learned about being healthy with activities through interactive exhibits at the museum.

Before she was First Lady of the United States, Mrs. Obama was a Harvard Law student as well as a member of the school’s Harvard Legal Aid Bureau. In Harvard Law Bulletin’s winter edition, the First Lady discusses her work with Let’s Move! and reflects on how her time at Harvard Law has influenced her career since graduating in 1988.

Today, First Lady Michelle Obama visited a local SUBWAY to announce a three-year commitment between SUBWAY restaurants and the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) to promote healthier choices to kids, which will include the launch of the restaurant chain’s largest kid-focused marketing campaign to date. In addition, SUBWAY will set and implement new marketing standards to kids and strengthen its already-nutritious children’s menu offerings.

Last week, the Miami Heat visited the White House to celebrate their 2013 Championship win. Rumor had it, during their visit, they teamed up with the First Lady in support of Let’s Move! to highlight the importance of eating healthy and drinking water to perform like a champion.

Yesterday, the Miami Heat made their way to our Nation’s Capital for their official White House visit to celebrate their 2013 NBA Championship title. Before meeting with the President, some of the Miami Heat players also spent time with First Lady Michelle Obama to work on a project to promote eating healthy and drinking water as part of Let’s Move! Because, when it comes to knowing about the importance of eating healthy to perform at your best, these guys know the drill.

In May 2010, the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) and First Lady Michelle Obama announced a commitment with 16 companies in the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation (HWCF) pledging to take action to reduce 1 trillion product calories by 2012 and 1.5 trillion product calories by 2015. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) served as the independent evaluator of this commitment.
