Go4Life® Will Keep Your Community's Older Adults Moving!

What do weight training, dancing, yoga, and mall walking all have in common? They are all community activities that older adults are participating in around the country, thanks to the national Go4Life partnership network!

Go4Life® is the exercise and physical activity campaign for people 50+ from the National Institute on Aging at the National Institutes of Health, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

This summer, Let’s Move Faith and Communities will host a webinar presentation on how faith and community leaders can participate in this exciting new Federal campaign that aims to empower older adults to be more physically active.  You’ll also learn how your organization can join many others in inspiring older people to lead a more active lifestyle by celebrating the first Go4Life Month in September 2015, in collaboration with the White House Conference on Aging.

Go4Life Month isn’t limited to older individuals, though. It’s for everyone in your community.  If you’re a faith-based organization, senior living residence, community center, fitness professional, health care provider, local business, corporate wellness program, library, local government agency, or non-profit, visit the Go4Life website and download free tools and materials designed to get your community moving!

Go4Life: Promoting Exercise and Physical Activity for Older Adults.

Thursday, July 16, 2105, 12:30-1:30 p.m. EDT Click here to register.

Go4Life is based on research showing that exercise can help prevent many of the chronic conditions and disability associated with aging and help older adults maintain their independence. Despite the growing list of benefits of exercise for people of all ages, adults in the U.S. tend to become less active as they age. Go4Life is trying to make a difference, by providing information and motivational tools to help older adults increase their physical activity and by working with organizations to provide an environment that supports their efforts.

Let’s Move! all of our citizens, including the youngest and the oldest, by inspiring them with activities that are fun and can fit into any lifestyle.
