Game On!: Miami Heat, 2013 NBA Champions, Know the Importance of Eating Healthy to Perform at the Top of Their Game

After clenching their second consecutive NBA Championship title, the Miami Heat will have their official White House visit tomorrow, Tuesday, January 14 to celebrate.

Last year, when the Heat visited the White House for their championship visit, they shared with us the importance of eating healthy and some of their favorite pre-game foods that give them the nutrition and energy they need to perform at their best. Check out the video below to hear directly from Head Coach Spoelstra and Miami Heat players Dwyane Wade and Shane Battier, and be sure to keep an eye out for what they have planned this time around!

Just as the Miami Heat knows it’s important to eat healthy and stay active to maintain a healthy lifestyle, the entire NBA also promotes physical activity and healthy living among kids nationwide through their NBA FIT program. Some NBA players and coaches, including Miami Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra, are members of the NBA FIT team, serving as ambassadors and positive role models for kids and families across the country and motivating them to maintain healthy lifestyles.  NBA FIT has also teamed up with Let’s Move! Active Schools to encourage schools to sign up for the program and reintegrate physical activity before, during, and after the school day.

You can also tune in at 2:45 p.m. ET tomorrow, January 14, to watch President Obama’s remarks with the Heat live: obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/live
