Working with Faith and Community Leaders to Help Families Live Healthier and More Active Lives

This year, Let’s Move Faith & Communities is teaming up with the National Institutes of Health’s We Can! (Ways to Enhance Children’s Activity & Nutrition)® program! We Can! is a national education program designed to provide families, caregivers and communities the science-based tips, tools and strategies that they can use to help children eat right, move more and reduce screen time.

As a result of this collaboration, faith and community leaders can join online trainings and learn how to use We Can! materials and resources to help families help children lead healthier lives.

Hundreds of participants have learned about the program’s hands-on tips to help families understand how portion sizes have grown in the last few decades, the importance of helping kids get the recommended minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity every day, how to read and interpret nutrition labels and how to make some small substitutions to make recipes healthier. These are just a few of the topics covered in the trainings and in the We Can! programs.

If you’re interested in joining a webinar training but haven’t been able to do so just yet, it’s not too late! There are several more webinars planned throughout the summer. To register for a webinar, click on one of the dates below:
