Say Cheese! Take a Photo, Share Your Great Outdoor Summer Moments
We all know that a picture is a worth a thousand words.
The U.S. Department of the Interior (Interior) manages some of America’s most breathtaking national parks, national wildlife refuges and other public lands. Interior could tell the American public about these great resources, or… you could!
Interior is excited to invite all Americans to join their new photo project, Summer in America’s Great Outdoors. The goal is to create a large photo collection of all the fun and exciting things people can do on America’s public lands this summer, and you are the greatest advocates in making this a reality.
Many people do not know about all the amazing places across the country they can enjoy – places that belong to all Americans. Let’s Move Outside!, administered by Interior, was created to get kids and families to take advantage of America’s great outdoors-which abound in every city, town and community. By linking parents to nearby parks, trails and waters – and providing tips and ideas – Let’s Move Outside! helps families develop a more active lifestyle.
With your help this summer, we can help even more people understand the great opportunities for fun in their own backyards and across the country!
Take a look at the photos already submitted on the Summer in America’s Great Outdoors Flickr group, where Interior will be highlighting these photos all summer long -- and send your own hiking, camping, fishing, biking, sightseeing, and other outdoor recreation photos by email. Please include a short description of the location, so all the great public lands across the country can be properly identified.
Find a park near you and go take some great pictures! We look forward to sharing and enjoying your great photos!
