Chop Chop visits the White House Kitchen

The best way to get your kids interested in eating healthy food is get them involved in preparing healthy food. Our friends at Chop Chop magazine paid a visit to the White House kitchen recently where their kid chefs grilled our chefs about what they like to cook – and what they like to eat.

Chop Chop says their mission is to educate kids to cook and be nutritionally literate and to empower them to actively participate as health partners with their families. So it’s not surprising that the result of Chop Chop’s day at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is a collection of quick, easy, delicious and healthy recipes your kids can make themselves (with your supervision, of course). And as back to school bonus, many of these yummy treats can be packed in a lunchbox.

You can download the recipes for a strawberry-banana smoothie, pumpkin loaf with raisins and dried cherries, parmesan yogurt dip, orange-cranberry seltzer, lemony hummus, turkey wrap, romaine lettuce roll-ups and carrot apple soup here.
