Calling Kid Artists! Submit Your Design for the 2011 Easter Egg Roll Poster

On Monday, April 25, the First Family will welcome children from around the D.C. area to the White House for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. Starting today, elementary and middle school students from D.C, Maryland, and Virginia are invited to submit their poster design for the White House Easter Egg Roll Poster Contest. The winning poster will be selected by the First Lady and will serve as the official poster for the Easter Egg Roll.

The White House Easter Egg Roll is a traditional event that dates back to the early 1800s. It was the largest public event held at the White House in 2009 and 2010. This year, the White House Easter Egg Roll is focused on promoting health and wellness, central components of the First Lady’s Let’s Move! initiative, which seeks to end childhood obesity within a generation. The theme of the event is “Get Up and Go!” and there will be activities that are meant to encourage children to lead active and healthy lives.

Students from the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia are encouraged to submit their poster designs by Monday, April 4 at 11:59 PM.
