GSA’s Child Care Centers Join Let’s Move

General Services Administration (GSA) has teamed up with the First Lady’s Let’s Move! Child Care. GSA has pledged that all of its 109 child care centers will use Let’s Move! Child Care’s five-step checklist that offers child care providers a way to ensure that youngsters are getting healthy meals and physical activities into their daily routines.

At GSA, we are responsible for more than 8,300 children at our child care facilities across the country. Our child care centers care for the children of federal employees as well as children from local communities. That is why we are joining with other child care providers in committing to meet Let’s Move! Child Care’s standards for nutrition, exercise, and limiting television time for young children.

Child care centers have an important role to play in helping ensure that we build a generation of healthy kids, and these small changes can make a big difference. By instilling healthy habits in kids today, we can be sure that they will grow into healthy adults tomorrow. The Let’s Move! Child Care program is just one more way that GSA is meeting top standards in providing quality care at our facilities.
